Swasth Assam – Health Screening & Awareness Kiosks
Why Swasth Assam Kiosks
Assam Cancer Care Foundation has set up health screening and awareness kiosks - 'Swasth Assam' - at OPDs of various medical college hospitals. The novel concept of the kiosks has come across as an enabler to provide access to people for getting awareness against cancer and to get themselves checked up. Since the kiosk is a healthcare touchpoint, opportunistic check-up of Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar is also done in the centres to cover the two non-communicable diseases. The beneficiaries are mostly caregivers accompanying patients and visitors of hospitalized patients. The kiosk services are offered free of cost.
So far, six kiosks have been set-up and more are underway.
1. Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati
2. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, Barpeta
3. Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, Tezpur
4. Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh
5. Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Diphu
6. Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Silchar
