Dear All,
ver the past few years, Assam Cancer Care Foundation has built a strong, integrated
cancer care ecosystem through its distributed care model, with a continued focus on
Oprevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care. As our journey has
evolved, so has our understanding that cancer care does not end with treatment. Survivors
often face lasting physical, emotional, social, and financial challenges that require sustained,
multidisciplinary support.
With this commitment, we have launched the Cancer Survivorship Programme – Sahयोग – one
of the region’s first comprehensive survivorship initiatives. Designed to support every cancer
survivor across the ACCF network, the programme ensures that survivorship becomes an
integral part of comprehensive cancer care, extending care beyond treatment and improving
quality of life.

Innovation continues to drive ACCF’s growth as we expand access to advanced cancer care
through the introduction of Robotic Surgery and Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT). These
milestones strengthen our commitment to delivering comprehensive tertiary cancer care closer
to home.
We remain committed to developing the next generation of oncology professionals through new
academic programmes, including DM Oncopathology and Dr NB Medical Oncology, strengthening
specialist training, research, and the regional oncology workforce. The establishment of Diphu
Nursing College further reinforces our focus on building a skilled and compassionate oncology
nursing workforce.
Our expansion also continues with new cancer centres at Diphu, Golaghat, and Tinsukia, bringing
specialised cancer services closer to communities and strengthening our distributed care model
to improve timely access to diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and supportive care.
This edition of essentia highlights the initiatives strengthening patient-centred cancer care
across Assam. From community outreach and early detection to treatment and survivorship,
each story reflects the dedication of our healthcare professionals, programme teams, partners,
and communities working together to improve lives.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to a future where prevention is prioritised, cancers are
detected early, treatment is accessible, and every survivor is empowered to live with dignity and
hope.
