the prescribed medications did not help much. About a month later, he noticed blood in his stools and his physician referred
him to a specialist.
A few tests and a colonoscopy later, diagnosed a tumor in his lower colon area. Doctors performed a biopsy test which
confirmed the growth was cancerous. Further scans and tests revealed that the cancer had spread to multiple organs as well.
In the final verdict of the doctor, it was Stage 4 colon cancer. Who had never suffered any serious illness in the 58 years of his
life, was taken aback and so was his family. But despite the case, instead of being disheartened and scared, the question he
asked was “What’s next?”
And that’s how his journey of becoming a survivor began
Throughout his journey of battling Stage 4 cancer, Ranjan’s biggest strength was the support of his family. And while going
through a situation like this posing countless physical, emotional, and financial challenges, he was thankful for the lessons
he has learned.
As Ranjan says, choosing a good and experienced Oncologist and cancer care team in ACCF played a crucial role towards his
recovery. He completed his Radiation treatment in ACCF KOKRAJHAR.
The whole team in the hospital treated him with enough kindness which boosted his morale and speedy recovery as well.
Ranjan was told to take care of his mental state by spending time with his loved ones and indulging in things that made him
happy because that is what mattered the most.
2. Putumoni dey, a resident of Bongaigaon town was only 29 years of age and mother to a 1 year-old boy when she was
diagnosed with cancer of the lung.
It is widely believed that only people who smoke get lung cancer. So the news came as a surprise since neither she nor anyone
in her family smoked.
Boikuntha, her husband was broken from the news. He cried his heart out fearing the possibility of losing her.
But after the initial shock and grief, while coming to get treatment in the Kokrajhar Cancer Centre, Putumoni’s one and only
