could afford treatment or even travel to the specialized centres for further evaluation.
In this moment of despair, a neighbour, aware of our foundation’s work in providing support for those in need, suggested that
they reach out to us. The man’s family contacted us through the local ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker and
CHO (Community Health Officer). As soon as we received the message, we made our way to their home.
Upon arriving, we could see the anxiety in their eyes. The weight of the unknown had taken a toll on them, but we remained
calm, reassuring them that they were not alone. We carefully reviewed all the medical reports and it was evident that the
symptoms warranted urgent attention. Understanding the gravity of the situation, we immediately contacted Kokrajhar
Cancer Centre, a well-established facility renowned for its compassionate care and advanced treatments.
With the help of the ASHA worker and CHO, we were able to arrange for the man to travel to the cancer centre, where he would
receive the specialized care he desperately needed. The sense of relief in the family’s eyes was palpable as they realized that
despite their financial struggles, there was hope.
The man’s journey was far from easy but with the collective support of our foundation and the Kokrajhar Cancer Centre, he
was able to access the treatment that could save his life. What began as a moment of fear and uncertainty turned into a story
of community, compassion, and collaboration.
This experience reinforced the importance of reaching out, offering help, and ensuring that no one faces such a challenging
battle alone. It reminded us all that sometimes a simple act of connecting people to the right resources can make all the
difference in the world.
