          A New Dawn of Hope





              n  a  chilly  December  morning  in  2024,  a  65  year  old  man,  weathered  by  life  but
          Oburdened with silent pain, attended a high risk NCD camp organised                b   y
          Assam  Cancer  care  foundation  –  COP  Dhemaji  team.  The  camp  was
          conducted on 5th of December, 2025 at Silapather kalyan Kendra UAAM,
          Dhemaji. For several months, he had been ignoring the sore and ulcer on
          the lower left corner of his lips , thinking that it was some kind of minor
          issues, without knowing that the seemingly insignificant disorder would change
          his life.
          As he sat among others wating for his turn, a mixed feeling of anxiety  and hope crossed his
          face. When his turn came, an ulcerative growth on his lower lip raised suspicion among the
          COP Screening team. After the careful evaluation, the team conveyed him the possibility
          of Oral cancer. The revelation about the ulcer was a shocker but also marked his journey
          towards healing.
          The Dhemaji COP Team, reached out to him. Sensitive to the situation, they guided him
          through the next steps. The empathy and clear communication with the team helped
