“You need to visit the Lakhimpur Cancer Center for further evaluation,” I told him. He nodded slowly, his son by his side, but
          the weight of uncertainty was evident in his eyes.

          THE DIAGNOSIS
          On December 5, 2024, Mr. Baruah visited the cancer center. For a man accustomed to the quiet rhythms of village life, the
          bustling hospital environment was overwhelming. Accompanied by his eldest son, he underwent further examinations,
          including a biopsy.

          On December 7, the results confirmed squamous cell carcinoma—a well-differentiated form of oral cancer. Though localized,
          the cancer was aggressive and required immediate treatment.

          Breaking the news to his family was one of the hardest conversations I’ve had. His wife, a quiet woman with strength etched
