him to the District Civil Hospital. However, the cost of transportation and medical bills discouraged him from seeking further
treatment. “I can’t burden my family any further,” he would say. “We barely have enough for food.” And so, he postponed the
visit. As the days passed, his symptoms worsened.
One fateful day, when his condition became unbearable, Meera took matters into her own hands. She brought him to the Civil
Hospital, where a free CT scan revealed a mass in his parotid gland. The doctor’s words were heavy: “This could be cancer.”
The diagnosis hit them like a storm. Fear and uncertainty gripped the couple. The word “cancer” carried a weight too heavy to
bear, and the thought of traveling to a specialized cancer hospital felt impossible. But, holding on to a faint glimmer of hope,
they made their way to the cancer center.
FACING THE HARSH REALITY
The experience at the hospital was alien to Arjun. Long hours of waiting, sitting in sterile, cold rooms where no one seemed
