understand her condition better. She agreed and upon examination, I noted a firm, irregular lump in her left breast. I calmly
explained the importance of seeking medical attention for further evaluation, as early detection was crucial for effective
treatment.
Mrs. Prativa was initially reluctant, fearing the worst and worried about the cost of treatment. I provided emotional support,
addressing her concerns and assuring her that we would guide her through the process. With her permission, I arranged for
her visit to the nearest Dibrugarh Cancer Centre and facilitated her appointment with an oncology specialist. At the hospital,
further tests confirmed early- stage breast cancer. Thanks to the timely intervention, Mrs. Prativa was able to undergo surgery
and receive treatment, significantly improving her prognosis. During her follow-ups, she often expressed her gratitude, saying,
“If you had not come to our village that day, I would never have sought help.”
Inspired by her recovery, Mrs. Prativa became an advocate for women’s health in her village,
encouraging others to prioritize their well-being and attend regular screenings.
