It’s Never Too Late
wo months ago, our Community Outreach Program (COP)
Tteam visited Serespore TE Hospital for an awareness and
screening program. Among the beneficiaries present was the
wife of Jay Narayan Hazam. During the awareness session,
our dental surgeon delivered a speech on oral cancer, its early
signs and symptoms. Jay Narayan’s wife paid close attention
and later approached the ACCF dental surgeon to discuss
her husband’s condition. The doctor advised her to bring Jay
Narayan for screening. After some time, he arrived and our
dental surgeon conducted a thorough examination of his oral
cavity. The examination revealed a homogeneous white, thick
mass on the left side of the buccal mucosa, extending to the
gingival margins. Upon questioning, Jay Narayan shared that
he had been experiencing dental pain on that side for the past
two years. He admitted that he had never sought medical or
dental care for his problem, as he considered it as a common
issue. Over time, his gums became sore, but he dismissed it.
