over six months. The staff nurses examined her and found hard lumps in her right breast. She was then referred to the Day
Care Centre, where she met the Oncologist.
The Oncologist’s examination confirmed the severity of her condition and led to an ultrasound (USG), which revealed
a BIRADS (5) lesion in her right breast along with axillary lymphadenopathy—a strong indication of malignant neoplasia.
Concerned by these findings, the Oncologist referred Rani to Dimapur Eden Medical Centre for a biopsy.
On October 20, 2024, Rani travelled to Dimapur with her husband for the biopsy. The results confirmed their fears: she was
diagnosed with malignant neoplasia, indicating breast cancer.
A FAMILY UNITED IN ADVERSITY
The diagnosis was a devastating blow to the family. Yet amidst their fear and uncertainty, they found a glimmer of hope when
they received financial assistance through the MLA scheme to support her treatment.
Currently, Rani is undergoing chemotherapy at the Day Care Centre, where she has completed her second cycle. Her journey
has been marked by pain and resilience, but also by the unwavering support of her family, healthcare professionals, and the
community.
A STORY OF STRENGTH AND CARE
Through the combined efforts of the dedicated Health Kiosk staff and the expertise of the Oncologist, Rani’s case highlights
the importance of timely medical intervention. Her fight against cancer continues, with her family and healthcare team
standing steadfastly by her side at every step.
Rani’s story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the vital role of community and healthcare collaboration
in overcoming adversity.
