Her journey led her to the Dibrugarh Cancer Centre (DCC), where she was admitted for 13 days. There, she underwent a
series of treatments, including radiation, additional biopsies, and more CECT scans. However, the pain remained unbearable.
Sumati could no longer walk on her own; she needed a wheelchair to move from place to place, and even the simplest tasks
became impossible to manage. The weight of the situation was crushing. She couldn’t recall a time when she had felt so
helpless, dependent on others for even the smallest activities.
It was then that the doctors and nurses at Diphu Cancer Centre became her pillars of strength. With their unwavering care,
encouragement, and expertise, they offered her a glimmer of hope when she felt most defeated. Despite the severe pain and
uncertainty, she knew she had to keep fighting.

With the support of a fund from Federal Bank, Sumati began her chemotherapy at Diphu Cancer Centre. The treatment was
grueling, with side effects that drained her physically and emotionally. The first few cycles were among the hardest moments
of her life. But with every cycle, she started to notice small improvements. The pain, though still present, was no longer as
excruciating. Slowly, she regained a sense of control over her body.

By the time she completed all 12 cycles of chemotherapy, Sumati had made remarkable progress. What once seemed impossible
was now a reality. She could walk again—something she hadn’t believed would happen just months earlier. The wheelchair
was no longer necessary, and what once felt like insurmountable daily tasks were now manageable independently.
While her journey had been long and painful, filled with setbacks and moments of doubt, Sumati Das’ story is one of
resilience, courage, and the power of support. From the depths of her struggle, she emerged stronger—physically, emotionally,
and mentally. Her progress is a testament to the unwavering spirit of a woman who refused to give up, no matter how difficult
          the road ahead seemed.
Today, Sumati continues to live her life with renewed strength and gratitude. Though her journey is far from over, with the
help of dedicated healthcare providers, the support of her loved ones, and her indomitable will, she faces the future with hope,
knowing she can overcome whatever comes her way.
