Torchbearer to the Community
ancer is a group of diseases characterized by the

body. It can affect nearly any organ or tissue and often presents
with symptoms. Cancer treatment typically involves surgery,
chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy but
despite advances in medical technology, cancer remains one
of the leading causes of death worldwide.
By combining these strategies, cancer patients can experience
improved physical, emotional and psychological well-being,
enhancing their overall quality of life during treatment and
beyond.
Palliative care is a specialized approach to improving the
quality of life for individuals suffering from serious illnesses
like cancer. Unlike curative treatments that focus on
eradicating the disease, palliative care focuses on managing
symptoms, alleviating pain and providing emotional,
psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their
families. It can be offered alongside curative treatments or as
the primary approach when a cure is no longer possible. The
